Feldenkrais® Functional Integration® – One-to-One Sessions

Kevin is a qualified Feldenkrais Practitioner offering individual Functional Integration® sessions at Colet House.

These gentle, hands-on sessions use light, non-invasive touch to help you discover easier, more efficient ways of moving. By encouraging deep somatic awareness and attentive listening to your own body, the sessions promote relaxation, reduce unnecessary effort and tension, and support an overall sense of wellbeing.

Rather than trying to “correct” the body, the Feldenkrais Method builds upon what you already do well. Through gentle guidance, you are invited to recognise habitual patterns held within the nervous system and discover new possibilities for movement that feel lighter, more comfortable and more natural.

Functional Integration sessions can be particularly beneficial if you are:

  • living with persistent pain or stiffness
  • recovering from injury or surgery
  • wishing to improve posture, balance or mobility
  • seeking greater ease in everyday movement
  • looking to enhance performance as a musician, actor, dancer or athlete
  • experiencing age-related mobility or confidence issues
  • wanting to reconnect with a deeper sense of vitality and wellbeing

Each session is unique and tailored to your individual needs. Together you explore how you stand, walk, breathe, reach, bend, sit, rise from the floor and organise movement throughout your whole body. Small changes in awareness often lead to surprisingly profound improvements in comfort, coordination and ease.

Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement® Classes

Kevin also teaches Awareness Through Movement® classes.

These slow, mindful movement lessons—most performed lying comfortably on the floor—help develop greater body awareness through gentle exploration rather than exercise or stretching.

Suitable for people of all ages and levels of ability, the classes encourage curiosity, comfort and ease while improving:

  • posture
  • balance
  • flexibility
  • breathing
  • coordination
  • freedom of movement

The upcoming series explores the body’s skeletal structure and the relationships between the major muscle groups. Throughout the course participants gradually develop a simple daily movement practice based on the classic Feldenkrais “Cat Stretch”, together with explorations of:

  • the muscles of the back
  • the abdominal and core muscles
  • the waist and trunk
  • spinal rotation
  • the hips and legs
  • the neck and shoulders
  • breathing and whole-body coordination

A Whole-Person Approach

Modern life often leaves us feeling disconnected from ourselves. Hours spent at computers, on phones and in front of screens can contribute to tension, fatigue and a diminished sense of vitality.

Alongside many years of experience practising and teaching Qigong, Kevin brings an appreciation of the relationship between mindful movement, relaxation and the body’s natural capacity for renewal.

His one-to-one sessions offer a calm, supportive environment in which clients can slow down, reconnect with themselves and discover greater ease, resilience and wellbeing through movement.
