Our African Drumming workshop gives you the chance to learn to play the African “Djembe” Drum. Explore the “bass, tone, slap” sounds of this instrument and discover why African drumming is irresistible.

Drumming is a great way to release stress and develop creativity, and it’s also the oldest form of communal musical bonding. The class will also include time to dance, shake and move to the beat.

This event is a collaboration with our friends at Mandala Centre – a hub of talented practitioners offering a range of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual events known as ‘The Mandala of You.’ Their deeply nourishing curriculum unites mindfulness, playfulness and embodiment to feed you from the centre outward and to uncover your most radiant expression of self.

Kay Smith

I have been playing djembe for 15 years and love to perform and teach. I like to describe my sessions as an introduction to the Joys of Djembe. I love what I do and it makes me happy to be able to share my passion with others. My goal is to create an enjoyable experience for all levels and experience of participants.
